The wait is over, our new Garden Lodge is open! Throughout the years we have continually explored new ways to enrich your experience at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, and Garden Lodge is a reflection of this dedication.
We are excited to welcome you, your families and your friends to discover, explore and experience Garden Lodge like never before.

Nestled between lush gardens and ancient milkwood forests, our new Garden Lodge has to be seen to be believed. Everything has been designed to blend seamlessly into the pristine natural environment but it is the dramatic views of the fynbos landscapes and Walker Bay coastline that will leave you breathless.

New Dining Area
Divided by a simple yet artful fireplace, the dining area will be a cosy space for loved ones to enjoy mealtimes together. The spacious outdoor deck maximises the views over Walker Bay and provides the perfect setting to enjoy our world-class cuisine.
Elegant Wine Cellar
A private dinner awaits you in our intimate wine cellar. This versatile space can be used for intimate dinner or larger gatherings. A prominant feature of the new design is the window looking into the maturation cellar filled with one of the most vast and rare collection of South African wines.
Luxurious Lounge Area and Deck
Enjoy one of our speciality teas or allow us to create a refreshing cocktail for you to enjoy in our elegant lounge area. The expansive floor-to-ceiling windows of the lounge area fill the area with natural light giving you the feeling of being immersed in nature.
Unique Wellness Area
A space of serenity and tranquillity, the new wellness area will have 3 dedicated treatment rooms and a sauna, to complement the relaxing and rejuvenating treatments from our qualified wellness team.
Interactive Playroom
Garden Lodge now features indoor and outdoor entertainment areas to keep children of all ages entertained for hours, including forest-inspired interior decor and a large outdoor courtyard. New kids activities are being developed and will launch with the lodge.
Suites New Look and Feel
Taking on a refreshed look, our suites will continue to celebrate an elegant, modern style with spacious rooms and unbelievable views over the Reserve and the Walker Bay region. The revamped suites offer a private retreat for families and couples to connect with nature and each other while enjoying all the luxurious comforts during their stay.
